Tämä valoisa koti sijaitsee Kallion rauhallisemmalla puolella, kuitenkin kaupungin sykkeen läheisyydessä. Valo, harmonia ja leikkisyys kuvaavat tätä elämänvaihetta parhaiten.
Uusi elämänvaiheeni pienen lapsen kanssa toi uuden näkökulman asuntosuunnitteluun. Asuntoon tutustuessani mietin ensimmäiseksi, miten saisin tilamuutoksilla rakennettua kauniin avokeittiön sekä erillistä tilaa yhdessäoloon, mutta toisaalta uneen ja omaan rauhaan. Halusin, että asuntoon voisi muuttaa perhe, jolle tehokkaasti suunnitellut neliöt mahdollistaisivat asumisen Helsingin keskustassa ajateltua pitempään.
Oviaukkoja muutettiin, seiniä poistettiin ja rakennettiin uudelleen. Alkuperäisestä pimeästä kaksiosta tuli valossa kylpevä kolmio. Uuden makuuhuoneen tunnelmaan vaikutti ratkaisevasti taiteilija Kiki Slaughterin Oh La La -tapetti, joka painettiin mittatilaustyönä Pariisissa.
Kodin osti hurmaava pariskunta kohtaamispaikaksi lasten ja lastenlasten kanssa.

This home full of light is located on the calmer side of Kallio, yet not too far from the busier downtown. Light, harmony and playfulness describe my life phase during this project the best.
In my new life phase as the mother of a small child, I had a new perspective in designing homes. When I saw the apartment, the first thing I thought about was how I could change the space to accommodate a beautiful open kitchen, an area for spending time together, and space for sleeping and having privacy. I wanted to create an apartment where each square meter is so efficiently used that a family could live in it.
We changed the doorways, removed walls and rebuilt them. A dark one-bedroom apartment became a two-bedroom apartment flooded with light. An important element in creating the mood for the new bedroom was artist Kiki Slaughter’s Oh La La wallpaper, which we had custom-made in Paris.
This home was bought by a charming couple; they wanted a place where they could spend time with their children and grandchildren.
